Airport Information

Panama's airport, the Tocumen Aeropuerto Internacional Panama (airport code PTY) is approximately 13 miles from the Riu Plaza Panama Hotel, the official hotel of ASCE Week Panama. Expected travel time to the hotel is between 20 – 25 minutes.

Travelers who need a Tourist Card

Citizens of any nationality who have had a valid passport from their home country for at least 3 months AND a valid visa from ONE of the following countries (used at least once to enter that country) need to purchase a Tourist Card.

Or any of the member countries of the European Union Obtaining a Tourist Card:

Immigration officials accept a United States permanent resident card as valid for entrance under this law. The required tourist card is purchased upon arrival at the Panamanian airport and costs $30.00 USD.

The tourist card is valid for 30 days, renewable at the Office of Migration for an extra period of 60 days.

If none of the above applies, travel to Panama will require a visa.

Applications requiring authorization from Immigration Authorities in Panama may take up to 40 (forty) working days starting from the application date.
