It will also explore valuation and processes available for the eventual transition of firm ownership.

Ground Improvement Methods: Selection, Design, Construction, and Monitoring/Inspection

The instructor will present the critical knowledge and skills you need in order to take advantage of the cost-effective use of ground improvement methods in urban construction for transportation, commercial, and industrial development. From start to finish – from design to construction and general site development – the instructor will lead you through the myriad of more than 50 different ground improvement methods from which you can choose.

HEC-RAS Computer Workshop

The HEC-RAS modeling system was developed as part of the Hydrologic Engineering Center's "Next Generation" software and replaces several existing Army Corps of Engineers programs, including the HEC-2 water surface profile program. HEC-RAS incorporates various aspects of hydraulic modeling, including water surface profile computations and bridge hydraulics.

This intensive, hands-on, two-day seminar and computer workshop will prepare the engineer and water resource professional to use the HEC-RAS computer program in real world situations. Led by experts with experience in hydraulic modeling, you will learn how to conduct water surface profiles, bridge hydraulics, and flood plain information studies using the steady flow capabilities of HEC-RAS. This is a hands-on seminar. You must bring your own laptop.

Post-Tensioned Buildings: Design and Construction - NEW

This seminar will cover the fundamentals of alternative project delivery using a Construction Manager-based delivery method, including CMGC, CM-at-Risk, and CMAgent. It will also discuss the life cycle of a CM project from concept through construction completion. You will learn how to develop the solicitation, evaluation proposals, develop a GMP pricing structure, and maximize the benefit of early contractor involvement in the design process.

Deep Foundations: Design, Construction, and Quality Control

This seminar will present modern techniques for the design, installation, and verification of deep foundations. Throughout the last two decades, major changes have occurred in e deep-foundations industry: for example, LRFD and computer-software changes. New and improved methods have been mainstreamed into practice for the design and installation of all types of deep foundations. This seminar will present modern design procedures for deep foundations, including discussions on these new developments.

Design of Anchors, Embedments, and Foundations to Resist Horizontal and Vertical Forces

Horizontal forces and uplift exist in many rigid-frame structures and in those fixed at the base. The first day of the seminar will cover the design of cast-in anchor bolts and adhesive anchors for such forces; the design of concrete embedments and foundations follows. The final topic covers strengthening existing anchors, embedments, and foundations to resist horizontal and vertical forces.
